O B J E C T I V E S

bullet to focus attention on dementia and neurodegenerative disorders of the aged in the Middle East
bullet to raise scientific, medical and social awareness of these disorders
bullet to enhance communication amongst medical and scientific workers in the region.

bullet other healthcare professionals with an interest in the aging community of the Middle East are welcome.

     Attendance will be open to participants from all countries.

F O R M A T

The symposium will be conducted in English. What makes this conference unique is the opportunity for participants to seriously engage each other's work through paper presentations, posters, clinical and epidemiological case studies and roundtable discussions. An ample question and answer session is scheduled at the end of the conference.

P O S T E R  S E S S I O N

The conference will include a poster session featuring cutting edge work on all aspects of Alzheimer's disease and related disorders--from unitary as well as combined perspectives. We encourage researchers and scholars at all levels and from all disciplines to submit abstracts for presentation and inclusion in the abstracts booklet.

DEADLINE for ABSTRACT SUBMISSION IS June 1, 2007.

bullet pharmacotherapy of primary and secondary symptoms in Alzheimer's disease
bullet non-pharmacological management of dementia
bullet ethical and legal issues in dementia
bullet aging in local populations
bullet aging in the Koran and the Bible

After attending this conference, participants will be able to:

bullet discuss the history of dementia and its societal impact on the aging
bullet community in the Middle East
bullet identify different forms of neurodegenerative disorders, including the
bullet many causes of dementia
bullet describe the behavioral features of Alzheimer's disease
