Sports and champions are controlled not only by human factors but by the very frontiers of science. The management of sports has become a very sophisticated yet evolving process of discovery and exploration. And as such, success has come to be recognized as a synergy between all the team members that contribute to the performance of our champions: leaders, managers, sales professionals, marketing directors, facilities administrators, competition managers, medical doctors, researchers, coaches, IT professionals, lawyers, insurance specialists and general support staff. The process of globalization of the 21st Century imposes new factors, conditions and economic concerns that make the staging of major international competitions a truly intricate and multi-faceted endeavor. It is from this particular premise that the conveners have packaged the themes of this conference as well as gathered the leaders of various international competitions and organizations, professional sports teams, major international sponsors, and key individuals involved with the business and management of these events. On the platform of this dynamic development of the world of sports, we are creating a new environment of communicating and exchanging past and present experiences as well as ideas and future trends. This is our contribution to the world of sports as well as our way to express sports management as a perfect symbiosis of science, art and business. Speakers representing industry, as well as academic scholars and researchers will present and discuss the latest topics in contemporary and prospective sports management issues, focusing on strategies, experiences and directions. This conference is an excellent opportunity for you to meet with these top professionals from all over the world, share views, and create an opportunity for networking, collaboration, sharing of technical information and the building of trust relationships internationally. A superb location at the shores of Lake Geneva and by the Alps, Lausanne will make you discover an unique blend of culture, cuisine, arts and, of course, sports, along with excellent side trip opportunities. We are looking forward to meeting you in Lausanne this November at what promises to be a most stimulating and enjoyable event!
