AWARD and SCHOLARSHIPS

The organizers of this event are providing additional support for those who may not afford all costs involved in participating.  A high degree of academic and professional accomplishments coupled with demonstrated financial need are key ingredients in scoring a high grade in this competition.

 

2010 LAUSANNE INTERNATIONAL SPORTS MANAGEMENT CONFERENCE: Bridging Research and Practice

Lausanne, Switzerland - November 4-6, 2010

 

AWARDS

To be considered for these opportunities, all applicants must complete and return the Conference Scholarship and Award Application by the appropriate deadline. Applicants will be notified of their acceptance prior to the conference. If your application is not accepted, please take advantage of additional conference savings through the Early Bird registration rates.


GIVEN THE LARGE NUMBER OF APPLICATIONS, THE REVIEW PROCESS HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO THE END OF THE MONTH (July). 

REQUIREMENTS:

Priority will be given to applicants who are first-time attendees and can prove financial need. 

The program has no geographic or gender restrictions,

All applicants must provide a letter from their mentor, department chair, CEO or supervisor that establishes A) The strengths and potential contributions of the student or employee; B) Ways this applicant would benefit from attendance at the conference; C) Confirmation that the student or employee is in good standing; D) financial need OR for those who are between jobs, an explanation of their financial need.

Applications must be received by DATE (no exceptions). Incomplete applications will not be accepted.

The applicant must be an author who will lecture or present an electronic poster accepted at this conference.

The applicant agrees to submit a written report of the conference or of a full session selected by the organizers. Failure to submit this report in a timely manner will result in revocation of the award or scholarship.

Vendor representatives or consultants do not qualify for these scholarships.

The Award and the Scholarships will be awarded at the sole discretion of the organizers.


2010 ISMC OUTSTANDING AWARD

One 2010 ISMC Oustanding Award will be presented.  This will provide:

A single registration to attend the 2010 International Sports Management Conference

Single-room accommodations for two nights (check-in November 5, check-out November 7) at the conference venue

Award certificate formally presented at the Conference

Name recognition in the Conference Book and on the Conference website. 

The Award recipient is expected to attend the 2010 International Sports Management Conference to receive the award.  The award does not include any other conference costs or fees or travel expenses.

The Awardee is expected to write a comprehensive conference report to be published on the conference website.  This will be accompanied by the author's picture and bio.


2010 ISMC YOUNG INVESTIGATOR SCHOLARSHIPS

 

Ten 2010 ISMC Scholarships will be presented.  Each of these scholarships provides:

 

A single registration to attend the 2010 International Sports Management Conference

Name recognition in the Conference Book and on the Conference website   

Verbal mention during the event.

The Scholarship recipient is expected to attend the 2010 International Sports Management Conference The scholarship does not include any other conference costs or fees or travel expenses.

The Scholars will be expected to generate a report on a session, panel discussion or groups of talks by topic.  Each such report will be accompanied by the author's picture and bio.


DEADLINE

All applications must be submitted by July 9, 2010.  Winners will be announced by July 16, 2010 via email.
