FERNANDO
ALMADA - Fernando Almada is a retired University Professor and
the CEO of V.M.L., Ltd. Mr. Almada is also a research director
with an emphasis on applied laboratory of sport management
and coaching.
He was honored as the 'Best Professor of
Marketing' of 2010 by the CMO Council and Asia's Best B-School
Awards. He was previously a Professor at Emerson College, Singapore
Management University, where he was honored as ‘The Most Inspiring
Teacher’, and University of Washington. He has also taught at the
International Olympic Academy and in executive education programs with
faculty from University of Chicago, INSEAD, Emory, Wharton, Munich
Business School, and the European Business School for many of the
world’s most respected companies.
Prior to academia he led global marketing
organizations within Fortune 1000 companies including: Nike, Informix,
and Transamerica, and was an award-winning entrepreneur. He is a
featured speaker at conferences around the world and has regularly been
interviewed by global media including: CNBC, BBC, MSNBC, ChannelNews
Asia, Bloomberg and more.
Stephen Hills - Stephen is a
Senior Consultant and Lecturer in Sport Management at the London
Metropolitan Business School. Stephen previously worked in the golf
industry as the Director of Marketing at the World Golf Village and
also serving as a consultant to the PGA Tour New Media department.
He studies for his PhD at Florida State University, having attained
a Sport psychology Masters at Sheffield Hallam University.
CHRISTOPHER
KESHOCK, PhD - Chris Keshock
currently works as a professor of Sport and Recreation in the
Leisure Studies program at the University of South Alabama located
in Mobile, Alabama, USA and previously taught at the University of
West Florida and Heidelberg College.
In addition to serving as a
professor in higher education Dr. Keshock also worked as an administrator and coach at the
intercollegiate, professional, and international sports levels after
playing professional baseball in the United States and participating
for sports teams in Europe and Australia. His research interests
include sport event management and coaching administration.
Abusselam Kose
- Dr. Kose
graduated from Marmara University, Collage of Physical Education and
Sports, Department of Sports Management in 2003, and completed a
masters degree in Sports Marketing in 2005 with a thesis titled "The
Marketing Views and Strategies of Professional Football Clubs in
Turkey." He had completed his Doctoral degree in sports management
in 2008 with a disseration on the services of professional sports
agents and the demand pattern of football players in relation to
these services in Turkcell Super League.
Dr. Kose is currently
Associate Professor teaching graduate
and post graduate level courses at Erciyes University, Physical
Education & Sports Department. He is responsible for sports
management programs and lectures on: Sport Marketing, Sport
Organizations and Administration, Sport Facility Management, Event
Management, Sport Sponsorship, Total Quality Management in Sport,
Law & Security in Recreational Sports, CRM -Sports Consumer
Behavior, Sports Agents and Representative Services. Dr. Kose is
also a scuba diving instructor and organizes national or
international diving courses. He also provides aquatic therapy and
water exercise programs for PE students.
Thanos Kriemadis - Thanos Kriemadis is
Associate Professor of Sport Management teaching sport management
and business management in the Department of Sport Management at the
University of Peloponnese. He received his M.A. in Sport Management
from Springfield College, USA, and his Ph.D. from The University of
New Mexico, USA, specialized in sport management and business
administration. He also received his M.B.A. in Strategic Management
at The United States International University, USA, with Dr. Ansoff
(The Father of Strategic Management) in USA. ). He was an
active member of the San Diego Deming User Group where he was
introduced to Total Quality Management by Dr. Deming’s disciples. Dr. Kriemadis is Quality
Auditor (ISO 9001:2000) as well as Quality Assessor of the European
Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) specialized in Small and
Medium Enterprises and the Public sector- Education. Before moving
to academia Dr. Kriemadis held several management posts in both the
public and private sectors in the USA and Greece. Research interests include
Total Quality Management and Strategic Management issues applied in service
organizations including sport organizations.
Joseph
E. Mahan III (SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT) - Dr. Joe Mahan is an Assistant Professor in the
Sport & Recreation Management program and the Sport Industry
Research Center (SIRC) at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA.
Dr. Mahan's research interests lie in the area of sport consumer
psychology. He examines social psychological factors related to
sport marketing and media phenomena, including digital social media
and sales promotions. His research appears in a variety of academic
journals, including Journal of Sport Management and
Journal of Business Research. In addition, Dr. Mahan has
presented at a variety of national and international academic
conferences, including the International Sport Management
Conference, the North American Society for Sport Management, the
Sport Marketing Association, and the Society for Consumer
Psychology. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Maryland,
College Park.
Joseph Mahan is the
recipient of the 2010 Lausanne International Sports Management
Scholarship.
Fernando Pardo
- Fernando Pardo
joined Ryerson University as an Assistant Professor of Marketing in
2007. While teaching Sport Marketing at the Ted Rogers School of
Business Management (TRSM) located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Fernando continues
to work as the Managing Director for FP Solutions: International
Sport and Management facilities solutions consulting firm.
Fernando’s
research interests are in the area of international
marketing strategy, although his current research pertains
to branding, sponsorship, Sport social media, strategic
pricing, the impact of Sport facilities in urban centers
both in theory and practice and Branding of Sport Nations &
Cities. He earned his undergraduate degree from the
University of Lethbridge; Master’s from Gonzaga University
and is currently completing his PhD. He has 20 years
experience in the management field; working with
International Sport Federations, Corporations, and
Municipalities in a variety of capacities. Fernando is
married to Claudia and has seven wonderful children.
RUTH
CRABTREEE -
Ruth is a Principal Lecturer within the School of Life Sciences at
Northumbria University, England and is Director of International
Development. Her main responsibilities include developing
international links and agreements with other Institutes of Higher
Education as well as teaching in the field of sport management. She
teaches at postgraduate level on various modules including
organisational development, resource management, and strategic
management. She is also an active Board Member of the European
Association of Sport Management.
Ruth's main research interest is in sport tourism and in particular
countryside management. Her research interests have enabled her to
travel to many different countries including Australia, America,
Europe and Africa, where she has spent time examining different
perspectives on how to manage national parks and tourists. She has
undertaken consultancy work both in the UK and overseas in the past
for different bodies including the Countryside Exchange Programme
and Friends of the Lake District.
PAUL
EMERY - Paul Emery has coordinated the Bachelor of Business
(Sport & Leisure Management) degree program since emigrating from
England in 2005. Formerly a Principal Lecturer and Project Director
at Northumbria University, he possesses abundant experience in the
leadership and development of undergraduate and postgraduate
curricula, including the management of international franchise and
distance-learning initiatives. As a co-founder of the European
Association for Sport Management he has presented and published
widely in the area of sport project and event management, drawing
considerably upon his theoretical studies as well as practitioner
management experiences in both sport facility and sport event
environments.
ANTONIO
VICENTE, PhD -
António Vicente is a Portuguese Professor at University of Beira
Interior with a doctorate in Sports Science. Antonio is also an
applied researcher in training processes and methods in sport micro
and macro management and coaching.
